my insane contact lens experience

intro

So, it was a normal Saturday night. We just got home from doing something, and I had just finished brushing my teeth. Now, it is time to take my contact lenses out, which is usually a pretty fast and straightforward process. Tonight, as you will see, is much more than that.

my left eye

So I reach my hand up to my head and go towards my eye, pinch the lens and pull it out, and then throw it in the trash. Same as always.

my right eye

This is where things get interesting. So I go to my contact to pull it out, and then this is when it happens. The lens folds in on itself and goes up into my eye. So naturally, I panic.

failed attempts

So I try to get the contact out. Now, at first, I just thought it went right above my eye. This has happened before. I just grab it out of my eye, and everything is good. Not this time, though. It was really up there. Then I called for my mom to come help me, we both looked and found nothing for like 1 and a half hours.

until

We did, well, at least we thought we did. Actually, we did not. So in case you don't know a contact lens on someone's eye when you are trying to look for it looks a little bit like this. So my mom thought she saw it, and I believed her.

digging around for it

So once my mom "found it" we went digging around in my eye for this contact. But we just kept not finding it.

eventually

We gave up (for now), and I got into a shower.

mid shower

In the middle of my shower, I felt the "contact" move down in my eye. So I quickly hopped out of the shower and started poking around again. But still nothing. So eventually we went to bed.

the next morning

I woke up and "felt" the contact, so we booked an appointment at an Optometry place that was somehow open on a Sunday, and we went on over.

arriving at the doctor

When we got there, we waited in the waiting room for a while and then went in. Once we got in and the doctor came, they asked the normal stuff and then once we explained everything they started looking.

and after looking for a while

They found absolutely nothing. So they gave me some artificial tears to take home, and then we left. The rest of that day was a pretty normal day.

then came the follow up appointment

So by now it is Monday. That would mean it is the follow-up appointment day. So we get there and then they look again and still nothing.

so at this point

They don't think anything is in there and they sent us home.

yeah thats it,

after notes

This was a crazy experience, and yeah.
